Nehemiah Project
The
Project

The Cost
The Goal
In the beginning, Bass Memorial Academy was financed
and built through several different methods, including the famous Penny
Campaign. In it,
each church raised pennies and together, financed the
construction of the Administration Building. The other main method for
constructing Bass’ campus
was accomplished by individual churches taking
on a certain building as a project. This method is precisely modeled
after the way Nehemiah rebuilt the
walls of Jerusalem. In the 3rd
chapter of Nehemiah, it lists all the sections of Jerusalem’s walls and
the different groups or families that took responsibility
for repairing
them. This model is being used again for the new Nehemiah Project. Each
church is being asked to work toward a predetermined goal,
therefore
sponsoring or “raising” a section of the wall.
A goal has been calculated for each church based on
7% of last year’s annual tithe.
For instance: If your congregation gave
$100,000 in tithe last year, the goal for your church for this project
would be $7,000.
Example:
$100,000 x 7%= $7,000
The Time
Just as Nehemiah
did so long ago, the Gulf States
Conference is committing 52 days
to finish the work of the
Nehemiah
project. From
August 11 - October 2, members
from around the conference will
"carry a tool in one hand and a
sword
in the other" to
complete the task of rebuilding
Bass Memorial Academy, God's
miracle school once again!
