Fun Day at the Water Park
BY Ana Evelia Recinos
Last Sunday we went to Philadelphia, Mississippi, to the Geyser Falls Water Park. Neither the two and one half hour ride to the park, nor the possibility of rain made the students happy. When we finally got to the water park, we were excited because we were there and the sky seemed to clear up enough to have some fun. As soon as we could, we raced into the park and ran to the bathrooms to change into our bathing suits. Some waited in lines for some of the rides such as the “Dragon’s Tail,” “Mt. Everwet,” and the “Cyclone.” After the fun rides, we headed off to the food court to eat our sack lunches and buy some extra snacks. After eating our tasty treats, we went back to the rides and floating around in the “Lazy River.” At the end of the day, we gathered up our brought-along supper and headed to the picnic tables, where we ate hot dogs, potato salad, and chips. When we finished eating, we loaded everything up into the bus and rode another two and one half hours back to school. Kyle Adams, a freshman, said, “It was fun. My favorite ride was the ‘Dragon’s Tail,’ and I also really enjoyed the beach....” Samantha Davis, a senior, said, “I had a great time, it was nice taking a break from school to just have fun,” and Michael Feick summed up his day by saying, “I thought it was pretty awesome, especially the ‘Back Slide.’ The only part I didn’t like was when they dragged me out of the water park.”
